Pledge Envy
![]() |
KRZA has something every public radio station should envy. Is it their extensive cd library; is it their breathtaking scenic surroundings rich with a multicultural history; is it the dedicated staff and volunteers? Although KRZA is fortunate to have all these things, they also have a 90% fulfillment rate on their pledges. That should go in the Book of World Records because of this outstanding loyalty from their listener members. On a recent visit to the Land of Cool Sunshine, the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado, General Manager Holly Felmlee pointed out that even progressive community radio rural Colorado is not immune to the wave of negative sentiments towards people of color. Luckily, KRZA is committed to continue its programming to reflect diversity and inclusivity and mirror its community. And speaking of community – we had coffee at “Milagros” a training ground (literally) to teach job skills to the homeless. The whole community supports the shop – not just because of the program – but because the coffee is great!
